Rania, 23

Born in Syracuse, New York, Rania’s interest in illustration began as young as age seven. Having lived on both the east and west coast of the United States, as well as in foreign countries (Saudi Arabia and Lebanon), Rania has had exposure to many different cultures. Living in Lebanon influenced her design perspective towards the Mediterranean and European flavor.

She moved back to the U.S. in 2002 after graduating from Sagesse High School in Lebanon to pursue her college education  Realizing her talent and love for fashion, she relocated to Los Angeles in 2005 to begin her design education at Woodbury University.  Since being a student, Rania has definitely found her niche in fashion design.  She received a second place award at the TALA (Textile Association of Los Angeles Inc.) annual scholarship awards luncheon, which honors southern California's outstanding student designers. She has also contributed her talents while interning with local LA bag designer, Marc Marmel.

Rania is looking to prove that her views on fashion extend beyond garments and into the world of footwear.  Her philosophy about design is to craft beautiful pieces that represent touches of the past, as well as blend modern design creations.

“It is important to be passionate about what you love and not to settle with mediocrity. I hope to bring fun and inspiration to the group on Sole Perspective.”
