Cristina, 22
Cristina is a senior in Fashion Design at Woodbury University in Burbank, California. She was born in Los Angeles, but spent 10 years in Las Vegas, where she attended Bishop Gorman Catholic school. There, she spent three years learning Japanese and was also heavily involved in ballet and tap. Her background in design was inspired from a young age by her parents, who own a tuxedo and bridal gown rental store called Jennaleigh's Bridal and Formalwear. With help from her mother, she became knowledgeable about sewing and construction, and made her first gown during her senior year of high school for prom. Cristina has also gained considerable inspiration from European culture and fashion, having traveled overseas with her father. Fashion is certainly a family tradition for Cristina.
While she has traveled across Europe, most of Cristina’s inspiration comes from her interests in Southeast Asia. She is particularly fascinated with Japanese culture and fashion, and hopes to one day open a boutique in Kyoto.
Cristina views Sole Perspective as an incredible opportunity to show the public her designing ability. “I just want to be able to put myself out there and hope that people find an interest in what I do.”
